WASHINGTON -  Congressman Bruce Westerman cosponsored bipartisan legislation to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the National Wild Turkey Federation. The legislation also recognizes the National Wild Turkey Federation's significant contributions to scientific wildlife management, research, and habitat conservation, as well as promotes and protects the long-honored outdoor traditions of the United States. 

WASHINGTON - The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, cosponsored by Congressman Bruce Westerman - a sensible solution to raise the debt ceiling and avoid defaulting on our debt. The legislation will establish spending levels for FY24 at FY 22 levels and allow for 1% annual growth over the next ten years. The Limit, Save, Grow Act is estimated to save taxpayers nearly $4.5 trillion. Congressman Bruce Westerman released the following statement: 

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Bruce Westerman voted in favor of H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023.

WASHINGTON - Congressman Bruce Westerman (AR-04), along with Senator John Boozman (R-AR), Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01), Congressman French Hill (AR-02), and Congressman Steve Womack (AR-04), today sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. The letter warns Secretary Yellen that the proposed changes to the Community Development Financial Institution’s (CDFI) Certification Application will hurt Arkansas banks, especially those in rural communities.

WASHINGTON— U.S. Senators John Boozman and Tom Cotton—along with Congressmen Rick Crawford, French Hill, Steve Womack and Bruce Westerman—wrote to President Joe Biden urging him to support Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ request for a major disaster declaration for Bradley, Calhoun, Cleveland, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Grant, Jefferson, Lincoln, Nevada, Ouachita, Searcy and Stone Counties due to severe winter weather from January 30-February 2, 2023.

WASHINGTON: Today, Congressman Bruce Westerman sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin expressing concern about the Department of Defense’s recent announcement to implement new policies requiring commanders to allow Service members and their dependents to travel to different states for the purpose of obtaining an abortion if abortion is illegal in the state in which they are stationed. The DOD also announced that it will pay for all travel costs associated with the abortion – meals, travel, and hotel stay.
