WASHINGTON - In response to President Joe Biden's first State of the Union Address, Rep. Bruce Westerman (AR-04) released the following statement:
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressmen Bruce Westerman (R-AR), co-lead Fred Keller (R-PA), and 11 cosponsors introduced the IRS PRIORITIES Act to address the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) overwhelming backlog of more than 8 million unprocessed individual tax returns. The bill prohibits the IRS from hiring additional tax enforcement personnel until it processes the tax returns from the past two years. The Members released the following statements:
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Westerman (R-AR) released the following statement on the one year anniversary of President Biden's inauguration.
Inflation continues to dominate the headlines as November's inflation rate was up 0.8%, bringing the total inflation increase to 6.8% this year, the highest in 40 years. Though the Biden Administration continues to blame the press – and anyone else they can – for stoking fears about inflation, American families know that inflation is real, and they know that the President's poor policies are largely to blame.

WASHINGTON - Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 5376, also known as President Biden's "Build Back Better" agenda. Congressman Bruce Westerman (R-AR) released the following statement:
It has been a busy week on Capitol Hill as lawmakers wait to vote on the $1.2 trillion infrastructure legislation, which is intricately tied to the $4.3 trillion reconciliation package. To pave the way for the massive spending packages that total over $5,000,000,000,000, Democrats voted, in a completely political move, to suspend the debt limit until just after the mid-term elections in 2022. This allows Democrats to completely pass the buck and avoid telling the American people how much each of us owe to cover the Democrats' massive spending priorities.
Rep. Bruce Westerman
Democrats may think of themselves as modern-day Robin Hoods--taking from the rich to give to the poor--but as they have their way, Arkansas businesses and families are seeing the equivalency of a tax hike in a very sneaky way: through inflation.
To put it simply, Democrats are on a spending spree that hardworking Americans cannot afford.
