Westerman Statement on Lockheed Martin Expansion in Camden
WASHINGTON – Today, Lockheed Martin announced at the Paris Air Show that the company is expanding production in Camden, Ark. U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) issued the following statement:
“Lockheed Martin’s announcement today is great news for southern Arkansas. By bringing new jobs and investment into a community with a capable and willing workforce, the company will be a part of significant economic development in the state. I’m pleased to see this investment finalized, and look forward to ensuring that Arkansas remains a significant player in the aerospace industry worldwide.”
Lockheed Martin’s expansion will include new construction and facilities for products including Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), Army Tactical Missile System (ATacMS), Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) and others. The private defense industry already employs roughly 10,000 Arkansans, and now plans to invest $142 million and hire 326 new employees over the next few years.
