Westerman applauds Keystone passage, urges Obama to "back down from his veto threat"
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON -- Congressman Bruce Westerman (R-Hot Springs) issued the following statement upon final passage of the Keystone XL project in the House on Wednesday (February 11):
"The approval of the Keystone pipeline is a long-overdue project that is about creating opportunity for private sector jobs and energy independence. With the passage of this bi-partisan legislation, we now have a bill going to the president's desk that we expect to be signed into law. Of course, the president has indicated that special interests are more important to him than energy independence. It is my hope that he will back down from his veto threat and do the right thing for Arkansas and America."
