Video: Tom Cotton Calls Iran Nuclear Deal 'Dangerous Mistake'
LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas' all-Republican congressional delegation roundly criticized a nuclear deal announced Tuesday between Iran and world powers, with freshman U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton calling it a "grievous, dangerous mistake."
Cotton, an Army veteran who authored an open letter to Iran in March signed by 46 other senators about the nuclear negotiations, vowed to fight the agreement that would curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for billions of dollars in relief from international sanctions.
"Over the coming weeks, I will work tirelessly to protect America from this deal and to stop Iran from obtaining unclear weapons capability," Cotton said in a statement released by his office. "I am confident the American people will repudiate this dangerous deal and Congress will kill the deal."
