Stamp honors Angelou

A commemmorative “forever” stamp honoring the life and works of poet and author Maya Angelou, of Stamps, will be issued by the U. S. Post Office in Stamps on April 8.

Ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. at Lafayette County High School, 1209 Alexander Lane, and will be open to the public. The national release of the commemmorative stamp will take place in Washington, D.C., on April 7 with a first day issue ceremony.

Fourth Congressional District Representative Bruce Westerman, R-Ar., wil keynote the event in Stamps, along with USPS District Manager David Camp.
