Arkansas lawmakers criticize Iran nuclear deal
July 14, 2015
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas' Republican congressional delegation is roundly criticizing a nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, with freshman Sen. Tom Cotton calling the agreement a "grievous, dangerous mistake."
Cotton and Sen. John Boozman criticized the deal announced Tuesday to curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for billions of dollars in relief from international sanctions.
Cotton said in a statement that the deal, if approved, would represent a historic defeat for the United States. Boozman said the deal gives him little confidence that the U.S. will ensure Iran never becomes a nuclear power.
