The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is vital, especially in many of the rural communities I represent. Hardworking families, seniors, small businesses, local municipalities, and others rely on the USPS in their daily lives for medication, bills, products, and correspondence.
Earlier this month, our nation was shaken to its core after an assassination attempt on President Trump in Pennsylvania. The tragic loss of Corey Comperatore, a firefighter and devoted father, in this horrific act has left us all reeling. My prayers are with Corey’s loved ones as they grapple with this unimaginable loss.
Free and fair elections are fundamental to our system of government. This November, voters should be able to cast their ballots with complete confidence that the outcome will be representative of the American people.
This week, we came together to celebrate the land we call home. Unfortunately, a dark cloud of failed economic policies gloomed overhead for many friends and families as they gathered to enjoy the holiday. According to the American Farm Bureau, this Fourth of July was the most expensive in history.
Nearly three years ago, far-left Democrats in Congress greenlit a $7.5 billion investment of taxpayer funds for electric vehicle charging nationwide. As a part of the Biden Administration's radical Green New Deal agenda, President Biden vowed to utilize these funds to establish 500,000 electric vehicle chargers by 2030.
In 2021, while stationed in Japan, Navy Lieutenant Ridge Alkonis was driving down a mountain road with his wife, Brittany, and their three children. As he was driving, Ridge suffered a terrible case of altitude sickness that caused him to lose consciousness at the wheel, resulting in a tragic and unfortunate accidental car crash that left two Japanese citizens dead.
Over the holidays, the crisis at the southern border continued to surge, sending thousands of illegal immigrants and deadly drugs into our communities. In December, we saw the most encounters at the U.S. border ever recorded in a single month - over 300,000.
In yet another attack on consumer rights, the Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed an aggressive de facto mandate for two-thirds of all new vehicles to be electric in less than ten years. This ban on the sale of gasoline-powered cars and the mandate for the sale of EVs is just another part of Biden’s radical Green New Deal agenda.
Earlier this year, the Biden Administration waived sanctions to allow the transfer of $6 billion in Iranian financial assets in exchange for the release of five American hostages. The Administration claims the funds are used for “humanitarian” purposes.
