Westerman Votes To Protect Arkansas From Obama's EPA Carbon Rule

June 26, 2015

“This week, I voted for H.R. 2042, a bill that would block the EPA’s carbon rule for power plants. President Obama’s EPA has been out of control, issuing new rules and regulations that are more focused on politics than sound science. This latest rule is effectively a backdoor energy tax that would never pass Congress. A vote to block the carbon rule on existing power plants is a vote to keep energy rates low for Arkansas families and businesses. Without Congressional action, costs for electricity will rise dramatically as electric utility providers pass costs for compliance to their customers.”
