Getting It Done: Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act of 2015
At the beginning of the year, the Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act was approved by both Houses of Congress and delivered to the president’s desk on February 24.
This bill authorized the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline across the Midwest and would have put North America on the path to energy independence, removing dependency on Middle East oil.
Even though President Barack Obama vetoed the legislation, this bill is a clear sign that the House and Senate – Republicans and Democrats – can find common ground on bills that matter to constituents. Keystone is not the first, and won’t be the last, bill where we can find common ground that goes beyond partisanship.
We are solving problems on behalf of the American people, and getting it done for the citizens of the Fourth District of Arkansas.
