Getting It Done: H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015
There have been many accomplishments to be proud of since arriving to Congress in January. Among the accomplishments to directly benefit constituents is H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015.
H.R. 2 included the so-called “Doc Fix,” which would eliminate the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate formula (SGR) by 2025, replacing it with quality-based reimbursements for doctors across the Fourth District and the United States. This benefits Medicare beneficiaries, namely retirees who have paid into the system throughout their careers and deserve quality care in retirement.
In addition to the “Doc Fix,” H.R. 2 also reauthorized the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) through 2017.
Passage of H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, is another example of Congress getting it done for Fourth District constituents since the 114th Congress was sworn in.
